Last Thursday we went East for a bit of winter adventuring. We try to plan a trip around our wedding anniversary each year and this year we went to a tiny village in the Czech giant mountains (this one) which is a 4-hour drive from where we live. The trip was actually a birthday gift for my husband who loves to snowboard but rarely has the opportunity to do so.
The village was rather pretty with many of the old buildings beautifully restored. The river Elbe runs through it (take a close look at the second picture, yes that´s a river) and it was quite picture perfect with all the snow (so-much-snow!!) and the sun. We got really lucky wih the weather.
I don´t ski or snowboard so I stayed back at our hotel during the day. I did a bit of exploring with Ludwig and went on a few particularly lovely runs along the Elbe. I didn´t have my big camera with me for either though so my Instagram pictures are actually prettier than the few photos you get to see here. Anyway it was a lovely trip - maybe not something I´d like to repeat every year since a ski holiday for someone who doesn´t ski isn´t the most exciting and also quite expensive - but it was good to get out for a bit and enjoy the Czech winter wonderland. And eat all the dumplings :) Have a good week!
