Burger Night.
Saturday, February 20, 2010 at 4:42PM I´m not a big fan of burgers. I try to eat mostly vegetarian and only once in a while give in to the husband who would eat meat three times a day. Still, when we were on our honeymoon in the U.S., I ate as many burgers as I probably had in the last five years. It just felt right there (a cliché, I know) and they were mostly good actually - especially the ones at In-N-Out (the husband who had a girlfriend once in California had gushed about these burgers for years so expectations were high).
When we planned what to eat this weekend we decided to make homemade burgers. Fancy organic homemade burgers I should say. We bought all sorts of add-ons like cheese and salad and bacon and onions and so forth, and I made a tray of slow roasted tomatoes (these are incredible, do try them, I make them whenever I can get decent tomatoes). I was going to buy burger buns at the supermarket but was shocked when I checked the ingredients (seriously people, do this, it will change what you eat), hence I decided to bake my own. I made this recipe and it turned out perfectly. Yum!
I just wish the burgers would come with the springy Californian weather. But I guess fries will have to do.

I heart In-N-Out burgers!
Bin dabei! Hmmm, lecker Gulasch.. vielleicht doch mal eine Ausnahme nächstes Wochenende ;)
Love your new corner of the blogosphere - so pretty! I really like this post and agree with a lot of things in your food philosophy. A well made burger with good ingredients is a real treat though. Can't wait to see your new posts here! Happy Monday:)
